How To Make Hand Sanitizer

Make your own hand sanitizer with alcohol, peroxide, glycerol and distilled or boiled water. This hand sanitizer is not sticky, dries quickly and has no lingering perfume smell.

Equipment

  • Glass measuring cup

Materials

  • 751.5 mL Isopropyl Alcohol 99.8%
  • 41.7 mL Hydrogen Peroxide 3%
  • 14.5 mL Glycerol (Vegetable Glycerine)
  • Distilled or cold, boiled water

Instructions

  • Pour Isopropyl Alcohol into a 1 L glass measuring cup.
  • Pour Hydrogen Peroxide into measuring cup.
  • Pour Vegetable Glycerine into measuring cup.
  • Top up the measuring cup to 1000 mL with distilled water or cold, boiled water.
  • Stir ingredients together with a wooden, plastic or metal paddle.
  • Pour into smaller bottles and cap immediately to prevent evaporation.
  • Quarantine bottles for 72 hours. Any spores present in the bottles will be eliminated by Hydrogen Peroxide in this time period.
